You pitch one unreleased song at a time inside Spotify for Artists.
No guarantees
Pitching does not guarantee placement, and paying anyone to guarantee it is against Spotify’s terms.
How to pitch, step by step
- Deliver your release through your distributor at least 7 days before the release date. It can take around 48 hours to show up in Spotify for Artists. Spotify: unreleased music · checked October 20, 2026
- Log in at artists.spotify.com, go to Music, then Upcoming, and choose the song.
- Complete the pitch form. More detail gives your song a better chance. Genre, mood and other details help route it to the right editors.
- Check back after release. You can edit a pitch until release day, but there is no guarantee editors will see changes. After the song is live, look in the Playlists tab to see if it was playlisted.
What the dates mean
The planner uses Spotify’s rules: deliver and pitch at least 7 days before release, and allow about 48 hours for the release to appear in Upcoming. That makes the practical delivery date about 9 days before release, earlier if your distributor needs more time. It is our arithmetic on Spotify’s rules, not a promise of how fast any distributor works. Spotify: pitching to editors · checked October 20, 2026
