How Does MusicPlacements Work?

When you sign up for a Pro Package membership, you are allowed to upload as many tracks to your profile as your want.  You can do two things with you tracks.  You can license them to other artists non-exclusively.  You determine the price and its uploaded to your profile page as well as into our Music Gallery and Beat Bank store.  MusicPlacements gets 10% of the sale price.  Secondly, you can submit as many tracks as you want for placement opportunities.  The A&Rs at MusicPlacements review each track.  95%-97% are rejected for placement opportunities.  The roughly 5% we do accept are called and invited to be presented in the A&R session and are made Featured Producers.  Each week we put together a session CD that we personally take to the A&Rs and studio sessions that week.  The labels we provide this to are G-Unit, Atlantic, Def Jam, Sony, Violator, Universal, Warner, DTP, Byrd Gang and many more.

How Much Does it Cost?

95% of our members will only pay the one-time $25 membership fee.  We do not store credit card number and will NEVER charge your card.

Will I get feedback from the A&R sessions?

This is the hardest part for most artists and producers.  We guarantee that we will get your tracks heard.  We sit with the A&Rs while they listen to our session CD.  We are able to see what tracks they like and more importantly what tracks they send off to artists in their label from the CD.  Beyond that, we won\'t hear much about your track until they decide to use it for a project.  This can take a minimum of 2 month and in some cases 6 months.  This is just how the music game works.  Music labels delay and move projects and aren\'t going to tell you they want a track until the final track listing is turned into the label and approved.  That being said, we will let you know how the A&R session went and we do try to provide updates if we hear anything.

How do I know this isn\'t a scam?

The easiest way to know if simply ask the A&Rs that we deal with.  They will tell you that we bring amazing content to them every week.  Secondly, if we wanted to make money we would approve every track for A&R sessions.  But the fact is we reject 95% of them.  This is because it is our reputation on the line when we bring the session CD to our contacts.  We rarely present more than 25 tracks each week.  We received 1000s of submissions.  Lastly, our game is music publishing.  We don\'t make any real money unless we land a placement.  That is why we want 25% of the publishing!

What does MusicPlacements get?

MusicPlacements takes 10% of the tracks that you license through the site.  If we land a placement for you or a licensing opportunity (with mobile phones, video games, commercials, movies, etc) we retain a 25% interest in the worldwide publishing for that specific track.  You keep any advance money for your masters.  You own the copyright.  Its completely non-exclusive, you can still sell the track to someone else and sign any management deals you want.
